How to play pictionary with this generator
Split into two teams
Two teams of two or more, sitting so that everyone can see one sheet of paper, a whiteboard or a shared screen. One person from the drawing team takes the pen.
Get a word and hide it
Only the person drawing looks at the screen. Press New word, or turn on Show 3 words and let them choose the one they like best — it keeps a bad draw from killing the round.
Start the timer and draw
Pick 60, 90 or 120 seconds and press start. No letters, no numbers, no talking, no gestures. A point if the team guesses in time, then the pen goes to the other side.

Questions
How does this pictionary word generator work?
Choose a difficulty and a category, then press New word. The generator draws from 720 hand-checked words and remembers what it has already shown you, so the same word will not come back until that pool is used up. Nothing is sent anywhere — it all runs in your browser.
How many words are there, and can I see the whole list?
There are 720 words: 288 easy, 253 medium and 179 hard, spread across ten categories from animals and food to movies and holidays. The complete list is printed on our pictionary words page, sorted by category and difficulty, with a copy button on every section.
How long should a pictionary round be?
Sixty seconds is the classic length and works for most adult groups. Give yourselves ninety seconds when you are playing with mixed ages or drawing on a phone screen, and two minutes for hard words or younger players. The timer here does all three.
Do we need the board game to play?
No. All you need is paper and a pen, or a whiteboard, or any shared drawing app. Split into two teams, one person draws while their team guesses before the timer runs out, and no letters, numbers or talking are allowed. The generator replaces the deck of cards, and it is completely free.
